Camp style wedding at Evans Lake in Squamish, BC / Chelsea & Aaron

I had the pleasure of spending a weekend with brand new parents Chelsea & Aaron for their Squamish wedding at Evans Lake. These types of camp weddings are always such a blast. Add in a fun crew like these two had on top of that and it makes for a great time. The weekend started with a welcome dinner and evening of games played in the field - football, bocce, beach volleyball & frisbee were a few of the crew’s favourites. Once the sun went down everyone gathered around the campfire by the lake for some drinks and laughs.

The wedding day began very casually with activities on the water and lounging on the dock. Everyone went for a nice swim including myself and it made for a great start to the day. The bride and groom got ready together in their cabin with their newborn Nellabeth and then the three of them took a walk through the woods on the property before joining their guests waiting at the big tree for the ceremony. The bride and groom’s grandmother’s (who are both in their 90’s) witnessed the nuptials and signed the marriage certificate to make it official.

I love weddings like this where I get the chance to spend multiple days documenting and getting to know everyone in a much more relaxed pace than is the case on your typical wedding day. The more time allowed to shoot candids of my couples and their guests the better in my books.
