Intimate Tofino Elopement at Long Beach Lodge / Niamh & Eoin

Intimate elopement in Tofino

When a pandemic throws a giant wrench in your wedding plans it’s best to counter with as bold a move as possible and decide to elope in the endlessly stunning Tofino BC. I don’t think there’s a better elopement location in the country both for experience and photography. It was a complete joy to be present for Niamh & Eoin’s Tofino elopement & spend a few hours with them to take photos in such a spectacular setting. After their ceremony at Long Beach Lodge we explored the beach and surrounding area stopping to crack some champagne, take in the views and bask in the majesty of the landscape. After I pointed out that eloping didn’t mean they couldn’t have a first dance, we found a little spot on the rocks overlooking the ocean and they danced to Peter Frampton’s “Baby I love your way” streamed on my iphone. It was all kind of perfect and made me deeply appreciate how special and intimate an elopement can be.

An intimate ceremony in Tofino was not what we envisioned for our wedding day. Our original plan was a big, boisterous celebration in the summer of 2020, with friends and family from around the world. Those plans would eventually be postponed, and then cancelled, as we dealt with the curveballs thrown by 2020. We ultimately decided that what we wanted most was to be married, so we organized an intimate ceremony in the fall at Long Beach Lodge in Tofino. It was the best decision we could have made, given the circumstances, and Scott played a key role in making the day so magical. He captured the beauty and simplicity of our wedding. It was an emotional and unforgettable experience, and we are so lucky to have this collection of photos to share with our family and friends, who had hoped to be there with us.
